Foo tells 'ignorant' Chan to just ask Jimmy Wong

"If Sabah DAP Vice Chairman Chan Foong Hin really wants to know more about the term of Datuk Yong Teck Lee as Chief Minister for two years from 1996 to 1998, almost 17 years ago, all that Chan needs to do is ask his Sabah DAP Chief Jimmy Wong Sze Phin. Since it was so long ago, maybe Chan has forgotten this inconvenient truth.

Some of the things that Datuk Yong did for Sabah was the granting of lands to independent schools and to religious organisations in Sabah, including to give lands to schools for financial sustenance, a meritorious, non-racial civil service and security in Sabah by enhancing peace and development in the East Asean Growth Area.

"Jimmy Wong was an active Supreme Councillor of SAPP and close to Datuk Yong at all the times that Datuk Yong was Chief Minister", said Foo Fook Ming, who was a political secretary to Datuk Yong when Yong was Chief Minister.

"I recall that the same day when Datuk Yong stepped down as Chief Minister in 1998, Jimmy left SAPP to join ex-Chief Minister Datuk Harris Salleh in Parti Bersekutu to become Bersekutu candidate for Kudat constituency in the 1999 state elections," said Foo holding an old photograph of Jimmy Wong with Harris and other Bersekutu leaders.
