Custom's GST music video drew ire and disgust from viewers

Custom’s GST music video receives 754 ‘dislikes’

“GST more like Government’s Scamming Tactics” remarks YouTube viewer in response to Custom Department's GST music video.

A three-minute music video produced by the Customs Department entitled “Grow and Share Together” from the acronym GST, drew nasty comments from YouTube viewers, of whom some said they regretted clicking on the video.

The video featured actors dressed as Custom officers promoting GST as a way to develop Malaysia.

The video informed viewers that not all items would be taxed and the entire process would be automated.

Several “actors” were seen holding placards with the alphabets, ‘G’, ‘S’, and ‘T’, while others gave up the thumbs-up sign to indicate their support for the tax.

The video which was uploaded on YouTube had netizens posting scathing comments on what they thought of the video and the tax.

Lyner Sim said: “cheap quality video, boring song, boring actor and singer, fake smile and fake act. and yeah MALAYSIA (tak) BOLEH”.

“How am I supposed to ‘Grow & Share Together’ if I can’t afford anything for myself, let alone share with other people,” posted MapleSight.

Meanwhile AsianShaun retorted: “GST more like Government’s Scamming Tactics”

The music video is reportedly one of the government’s many efforts to convince Malaysians of the benefits of GST and promote awareness of its implementation next Wednesday.

  1. Everything is going to naik!naik! naik!.How am I going to smile? The Govt is going to be happy as it can serviced all the bonds and MGS debts.Even before the due date of implementation ada barang sudah naik RM2 as RM dropped in its forex value.
